2017 Student Outdoor Educators Conference
18th Annual Outdoor Educators Conference at UMD This Weekend!
The University of Minnesota’s Annual Student Outdoor Educators Conference (SOEC) is an opportunity for sharing, teaching, learning, and networking among students and members of the professional outdoor education community. This year’s conference will be held during the weekend of February 3-5, 2017 at the University of Minnesota Duluth campus.
- Friday afternoon’s schedule includes mini trips and a pizza social.
- Saturday’s schedule includes presentations, more day trips, and a keynote speaker.
- The conference concludes on Sunday with student presentations, a professional panel, and the passing of the torch ceremony.
Sunday’s Professional Panel to Include Kris McNeal from The Duluth Experience
What: Professional panel including Kris McNeal (The Duluth Experience), Tim Bates (UMD Recreational Sports Outdoors Program), Mark Morrissey (Outdoor Program Director at Bemidji State University) and Elizabeth Andre (Associate Professor of Outdoor Education at Northland College). There will both be prepared questions from the SOEC Committee along with audience questions.
When: Sunday, February 5th, 10:30am-11:30am
Where: Montague Hall 70 on the UMD campus
