The Duluth Experience Adds New Stops to The Duluth & Beyond Brewery Tour
Starting May 3rd, our Saturday Duluth & Beyond Brewery Tour is back on tap! This North Shore craft beer adventure was one of our most popular tours during the 2013 season and, after a winter hiatus, we’re excited to be running this Saturday tour once again. We’re even more excited to be welcoming two new stops to The Duluth Experience!
We’ve got the same great foundation to our Saturday craft beer expedition – Lake Superior Brewing Company and Castle Danger Brewery continue to make for fun and educational brewery tours where brewery tourists learn about the production brewery business model and the unique stories from the great folks behind these two world-class breweries.
And now… to add to an already solid lineup, we’ve got two new stops: Borealis Fermentery & Harbor Hops. We’ll alternate between these two stops based on availability throughout the summer but you can be guaranteed that you’ll learn a lot about two different aspects of the craft beer experience.
The popular Borealis Fermentery is production brewery owned and operated by Ken Thiemann. Ken’s nanobrewery specializes in Belgian-style ales and, having studied the art of Belgian beer in Belgium… well, you get the picture… and you’ll get the whole picture – including a tour of Ken’s self-designed and self-constructed Knife River brewery – when you join us on The Duluth & Beyond Brewery Tour. Ken is an interesting guy working in an amazing space and making spectacular beer. We can’t wait to introduce you to Ken and his deliciously concocted ales.
Harbor Hops is a production hop farm located just outside Two Harbors, Minnesota. We’ll get a tour of this working hop farm from owners Lori and Ryan Melton and get a feel for how hops are cultivated for local use in the magical art of brewing. Local ingredients are an important part of the local beer scene and the Melton’s are working hard to make sure that there are hops a’plenty. They promote the Harbor Hop Farm as a pick-your-own experience and we’ll get a chance to watch their progress throughout this summer’s growing season.
We can’t wait to get behind the wheel and get on the road… this is one brewery tour you will not want to miss.
