Date Night Ideas for Beer Lovers In Duluth
Crafting Romantic Evenings In Duluth
Duluth has a bunch of great date night options for a fun (and delicious) night out with your beer-lover lover. And in a town that boasts nine breweries – plus two more in neighboring Superior – there are plenty of ways to brew up a bit of romance in Duluth Beer City. Here are a couple of ideas that I recommend for your Duluth date night adventure.
Do you have some special Duluth date night ideas during the winter? Let us know in the comments below!
1. Dinner & Laughs
What could be better than amazing art, a delicious meal, fantastic beer options, and live comedy? I’m talking about Zeitgeist Arts Cafe in Downtown Duluth’s Historic Arts & Theater District. They’ve got an amazing dinner menu along with a bunch of local and regional beer options, an impressive wine and whiskey menu, handcrafted cocktails, and the best french fries in town. Like to laugh? Then definitely check out The Renegade Comedy Improv show down the hall at Zeitgeist Teatro on Friday and Saturday nights – super fun. Teatro is one of my favorites and laughter is good for the soul.
2. Trails & Ales
Duluth is known as one of the best outdoor adventure towns in the United States and we’ve got a ton of great options for the wild at heart. We’ve got two ideas for you that work in the summer and winter: hop on a mountain bike and explore The Duluth Traverse or take a hike out to Ely’s Peak for epic vistas and a romantic moment with your partner. Most of Duluth’s breweries sell crowlers – large-format beer cans – that (conveniently) fit into a day pack. Hmmm. I wonder if that’s a coincidence… Seriously, though, outdoor adventure and craft beer go hand in hand. Get out and explore. Then celebrate your adventures at one or more of Duluth’s taprooms.
3. Movie Night Out West
There’s a new movie theater in Duluth… a newly opened, historic theater to be exact. The West Theater is a unique entertainment hub that is now offering mainstream movies, classic films, concerts, and plays. The historic West Theater first opened on Christmas day in 1937 but was shuttered in the 1970s. Then Bob Boone, a Duluth local, bought the building and started to restore the theater. As a result, The West Theater officially reopened as a movie house on June 21st 2019! The attention to historic detail inside the theater is amazing. Big screen, good audio, comfy seats… and they have beer on tap! Check out an evening show at “The West” and then hop across the street to Wussow’s Concert Cafe for more tasty brews and great local music.
4. Get Social With The Duluth Experience
There is no better way to explore Duluth’s epic beer scene and meet a bunch of fun, like-minded folks along the way! This is a great way to sample a wide variety of brews and meet the folks who make ’em. Bring a few friends along for a group date or make a few new ones aboard the brew bus. As one beer-lover lover once told us… “this is the best date night ever!”. Well, it certainly made our list. Cheers!
