Duluth Coffee Company Opens Canal Park Cafe
Exciting News From Duluth’s Brew Scene
We are excited to announce that our friends at Duluth Coffee Company are opening of a new cafe satellite in the heart of Canal Park! This is an interesting setup… a cafe inside a bar inside a brewery. Leave it to the creative minds at Duluth Coffee to come up with a new way of doing business in Duluth.
Located inside The Ripple Bar (click HERE for a map to The Ripple), which shares a space with Hoops Brewing, the new venture will expand Duluth Coffee’s ability to serve their locally-roasted, single-origin coffee to a larger audience with a focus on the millions of travelers who visit Canal Park each summer.
The location was chosen based on the synergy that Duluth Coffee Company has with both The Ripple Bar and Hoops Brewing Company. All three companies put a strong emphasis on quality, craft, and community. Duluth Coffee Company and Hoops Brewing have continuously had a coffee-beer collaboration along with Hoops beer being served on tap at Duluth Coffee Company Roastery. The Ripple Bar also uses Duluth Coffee in their Cold Brew Cocktail. So it’s a natural fit.
According to Sam Levar, the move is focused on a multi-faceted strategy. “We’re trying to offset some of the impacts to our Downtown roastery from this summer’s Superior Street construction and [The Ripple owner] Maggie Gustafson is really looking forward to more vitality in her space outside of their regular hours. The cafe hours will overlap a bit with Hoops Brewing, but The Ripple opens after we close each day, as we’ll be sharing the bar space” explained Levar.
The new cafe’s grand opening will be held on June 1st, from 10am-12pm. The cafe will be open seven days a week (Sunday-Friday 6am-2pm; Saturday 6am-12pm).
