Duluth’s Award Winning Breweries
The History of Award-Winning Brews In Duluth & Superior
The Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior have become synonymous with high-quality brewing. What we refer to as The North Shore Craft Beer Scene has repeatedly proven itself at regional, national, and international craft beer competitions. Most recently, our friends at Earth Rider Brewing in Superior, WI brought home a gold medal from the Great American Beer Festival for their Duluth Coffee Pale Ale. Duluth was well represented in the competition as well with Ursa Minor Brewing earning the bronze medal for their Thistle Dew Scottish-style Ale.
The fact that our craft beer community continues to bring home craft beer accolades, year-after-year, is something to celebrate. It’s something we certainly focus on during our various guided craft beer experiences and an important fact to related to both locals and visitors. We are lucky to live in such a great craft beer community – a collaborative, diverse, and delicious network of craft breweries – each of which is laser focused on crafting the best beers.
Great American Beer Festival Wins (2004 – 2019)
We compiled GABF medal and awards data on our local breweries (big shout out to our brew tour guide – Nate Anderson – for pulling this together). Over the course of the last 16 years, The Twin Ports have brought home nine medals from The Great American Beer Festival. Here’s the list:
And that’s not the end of the story. Our local Twin Ports breweries have an impressive resume of awards at a variety of venues – local and regional beer festivals, media competitions, and other award presenting organizations. This winter, we’ll be releasing additional information on our local breweries and updating our brewery profile pages with more information about each brewery.
We’ve taken it upon ourselves to be the loudest cheerleader for local craft beer and we love doing it! Cheers!
