Volunteer Day On The Superior Hiking Trail

Clearing Trail In The Great Northwoods

The Duluth Experience crew had the opportunity to get out on The Superior Hiking Trail for a bit of trail work this month and we had a blast! Thanks to Superior Hiking Trail Association Executive Director, Denny Caneff, for spending the morning with us and providing the tools to clear some trail.

If you don’t know about the Superior Hiking Trail Association, you should definitely check them out. Here’s a link to the Superior Hiking Trail Association website: superiorhiking.org.

We had fantastic weather for our crew as we worked on a section of the “SHT” of the Lismore Trailhead. We spent a couple of hours working on a 2-mile section of trail that had recently been logged by a private landowner, lopping off encroaching tree branches that were obstructing the pathway, installing signs to mark the trail, and raking debris from the trail.

Thanks to Denny and the SHTA for being such great stewards of this amazing resource.

Thank you to The Superior Hiking Trail Association and the hundreds of volunteers who build and maintain this amazing trail system!
